Polished Buckhead Kitchen Remodel
This Buckhead kitchen remodel balances clean-lined design with thoughtful functionality, creating a space that feels refined, intentional, and exceptionally livable. The homeowners envisioned a contemporary, elegant environment, and the renovation achieved that goal while maintaining a similar footprint in the kitchen space. Strategic changes—such as removing a small closet pantry to the left of the refrigerator—allowed for expanded custom cabinetry and a full-height pantry tower, improving storage without altering the room’s overall flow.
At the center of the kitchen, a substantial island anchors the space and comfortably seats four, topped with striking quartz defined by soft gray veining. The material continues up the walls to form a seamless full-height backsplash and is expertly wrapped around the windows, reinforcing the kitchen’s architectural presence. Flat-panel cabinetry from Mouser in a muted gray tone establishes a serene backdrop, complemented by Top Knobs hardware. The homeowners’ existing Dacor range was thoughtfully reused and paired with a new 42-inch Sub-Zero refrigerator, while a microwave was discreetly integrated into the island.

“Schuon Kitchens was wonderful to work with. We are extremely pleased with our new kitchen. Hans and his team were professional, easy to work with throughout the design and installation process and the final product is beautiful. The cabinets are all well-built and have all the functionality we were looking for. The installation team was very professional and detail oriented as well. Overall, we were very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend Hans and his team to anyone doing a kitchen renovation.” – Matthew Given
More About the Project
Functionality was prioritized throughout the layout to support daily routines. Custom storage features include a swing-out lazy Susan that maximizes corner accessibility and a dedicated spice drawer positioned near the cooking zone for convenience, enhancing efficiency while preserving the clean aesthetic.
Beyond the primary work area, a built-in cabinet introduces a furniture-inspired focal point along the wall between the kitchen and dining room. Black metal upper doors with a painted surround frame a stained quarter-sawn oak interior, adding warmth and contrast while providing display and storage. On the other side, a former pantry was completely transformed into a beverage station and wet bar, fully lined in matching quarter-sawn oak and featuring a dramatic double-ledge backsplash that elevates the entertaining experience.
