Schuon Kitchens & Baths is rooted in three generations of German cabinetmaking heritage. Long before Hans Schuon founded the company in 1993, his family’s story was shaped by furniture making, craftsmanship, precision, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way.

Hans’ father, Karl Schuon, was born in Haiterbach, located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Karl’s father was a master furniture maker who opened a furniture-making shop after World War II. Karl and his three brothers learned the furniture-making trade from their father and through a furniture-making apprenticeship program in Haiterbach.

That early training helped shape a family tradition built on skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in quality work.

Three Generations of Cabinetmaking Craftsmanship

From Germany to the United States

In 1953, Karl was offered the opportunity to immigrate to the United States by an American uncle. After several years, he began working for two German immigrant brothers who owned a small cabinet shop in central Illinois. Karl helped grow that small shop into a large business and a premier name in cabinetry.

As a third-generation cabinetmaker, Hans worked as an apprentice in his father’s business, learning not only the technical skills of cabinetmaking, but also the values that continue to guide Schuon Kitchens & Baths today: precision, integrity, customer service, and a commitment to high-quality results.

Those lessons became the foundation for the company Hans would later build in the Atlanta area.

Established in 1993, Schuon Kitchens & Baths is a one-stop source for luxury kitchen and bath design, custom cabinetry, quality installation, and construction services. From our showroom in Roswell, we work with Atlanta-area homeowners to create custom kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and other cabinetry solutions that are both beautiful and functional.

Cabinetry remains at the heart of what we do. In addition to offering luxury furniture-grade Mouser Cabinetry, Schuon operates its own cabinet shop, where our team crafts premium frameless and inset cabinetry with the quality and attention to detail our clients expect.
